一 |     Jenny Han has finally delivered the update The Summer I Turned Pretty fans have been waiting for — and it comes with both excitement and a reality check. Speaking at TheWrap’s 2025 Power Women Summit, the author-showrunner confirmed that the script for the upcoming TSITP movie is officially complete. However, despite speculation and fan hopes, the film is far from release.     “I just wrote it,” Han revealed, explaining that the team has not filmed anything yet. She acknowledged the widespread expectation that the movie might premiere during Christmas 2025, but clarified that such a timeline was “not happening, not possible.” The delay stems from the intense production schedule of Season 3, which ran longer than previous seasons with 11 episodes and kept her in filming and post-production through June, just before the show’s July release. “We wouldn’t have had time to film the whole movie,” she said.                                                                 View this post on Instagram          A post shared by Jenny Han (@jennyhan)               The film is expected to adapt the final portion of Han’s trilogy, widely believed to revolve around Belly and Conrad’s wedding and will mark Han’s feature directorial debut. Having directed an episode of Season 3, Han described the transition as “natural and really easy” after years of knowing the cast, the crew, and the world of Cousins Beach inside out.     As she prepares for the movie, Han is drawing inspiration from rom-com legend Nora Ephron, name-checking classics like Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail as tonal touchstones.
